Inspiration From The Past: Marilyn Monroe

Our Huge Shop Makeover - Part 2
Mink Schmink Shop Makeover, a set on Flickr.
The 3 days it took to complete the makeover went so quickly! To see the pictures from before the makeover and then compare them to now, leaves me amazed and speechless.
Take a look at these pics to see the transformation - what do you think?
I love it all, but my favourite part of it all is the artwork on the wall of Eartha Kitt with a tiger - painted by the talented Jane Evans.
A big thank you to everyone that came and helped with the makeover - every bit was appreciated!

Rockabilly Hair - Big Flowers
While there's more to rockabilly hair than just adding a flower, it can add a bit of zing to your outfit and also soften your look (plus hide bad hair days). It's instant pretty!
Do: Wear it off centre. It always looks better.
Do: Go large! Pick a big flower for maximum impact.
Do: Get creative - Thread your flower onto ribbon as an instant corsage or choker. Who says you always have to wear it in your hair?!
Don't: Over accessorise - If you're going to have a large flower in your hair, remember it will draw the eyes upward. So stay away from fussy accessories and keep the lines clean and simple when picking earrings and necklaces to co-ordinate.

Tip: When picking a flower, match it to a colour on your top/clothes, bag or shoes - this will tie your outfit together and look better than having too many colours. Keep your colour palette simple!
This season's luscious reds and purples will have you turning heads (wink wink!)
Our hair flowers have both hair clips AND brooch pins on the back - How good is that? They look great as a brooch on your cardigan too.
