If you are heading to Canberra this Summer, this is a must visit while you're there. The National Gallery of Australia is opening a new exhibition of historical and contemporary jewellery on 26 November 2009. To be launched in its newly refurbished exhibition space for their Decorative Arts and Design Collection, it will aim to show visitors works by Aussie and International artists and designers. There will be 110 selected pieces, which date from the mid-nineteenth century to today, so you will definitely find it inspiring.
